The popular Pen Press title, My Journey to Becoming the First Lady Chelsea Pensioner by Winifred Phillips, was picked up by mainstream publisher Simon and Schuster and received outstanding sales when it was published last month. The book, rebranded as Mum's Army, appeared on the Asda '2 for £7' book offer and rocketed up the charts.

As ever, we are over the moon to see one of our self published titles sell so well and we are now enjoying a close relationship with the mainstream publisher in the hope that they will find another one of our hidden gems. The original Pen Press edition of Winifred's memoir is still available, here. Congratulations, Winifred!

Michael Montgomery's new title, The Owl and the Pussy Cats on poet Edward Lear, was featured in the Daily Mail this week.

The article focuses on the unusual angle the book takes on Lear's life, saying: "Because he never married and his three closest friends were men, it has often been assumed that he was queer in the modern sense. This biography’s chief aim is to demonstrate that he was nothing of the kind."
